The house is made of simple materials and thanks to that is quite large even though the budget isn’t too big. The ground floor’s facades are clad with the most swedish of facades – the sawn spruce panelling. The upper floor, where public areas are, is clad with a flawless and proper facade material 5 mm translucent white acrylic plastic or PMMA. A large balcony with a pragmatic steel construction and cheap railing compensates for the lack of outdoor space in connection to the living room. Plastic House is located in a pure residential area just outside Göteborg, Sweden. It’s designed UNIT Arkitektur AB on the place of an old detached house. Even though the sea is near by, most people do not see it from the public spaces where they spend most of their time. That happend because of the nearby neighbor’s house that is obstructing the view and the Swedish building regulation which states that a kitchen, living room, bathroom and a bedroom must be accessible for a disabled person.

Minimalist black and white interior by Ecole

The first floor become a large open space where the entrance, the living room and the kitchen form one single continuity. The guest space that consists of a bedroom and a bathroom is also located on that floor. An amazing steel staircase links the living room to the owner’s private space underneath the roof. Even though the flat features a black and white minimalist decor there is a touch of oldness thanks to a georgeous fireplace and natural wooden floors. This 95 square meter flat is designed by French architecture and design studio, Ecole. It’s facing the Eglise Saint-Gervais on one side and the Hôtel de Ville de Paris on the other. The whole of the the two top floors of an 18th century building are occupied by it. Of course the flat is a restoration of the existing space to become suitable for a contemporary lifestyle.

Modern apartment interior by H2O Architects

To be more precise the apartment in central Paris was renovated by them to become a modern living space where the owner could showcase his comic books collection and live in comfort. The design offers a wide open space with a complex and unusual wall structure. These walls mostly feature integrated bookshelves and are painted in white. The back walls of bookshelves are painted in black to highlight comic books. French-based architecture and design studio, H2O Architects, is one of those studios that always could surprise by its creative product and room designs. You can seen that for yourself by checking out their glass mirror and cool kids room designs. This 60 square meter apartment is also designed by H2O Architects for a comic books collector.
